Product Description
Two-component, polymer-modified bitumen–rubber-based waterproofing material with crack-bridging properties, applied from the positive side.

Application Areas
• Roof terraces
• Basements and retaining walls
• Mineral surfaces in contact with soil
• All types of reinforced concrete structures below and above ground
• Waterproofing of wet areas

Features and Advantages
• Highly resistant to underground sulfate salts
• Can be applied by brush, trowel, or airless spray gun
• Does not sag on vertical surfaces
• Maintains elasticity even at low temperatures
• The high polymer content provides excellent protection for reinforced concrete against pressurized groundwater
• Suitable for all mineral substrates such as concrete, stone, brick, and block
• High resistance to loads from soil backfill
• Provides seamless waterproofing protection against all types of water and moisture
• Solvent-free
• Protects reinforced concrete structures exposed to mechanical vibrations
• Can be applied on dry or slightly damp surfaces
• Excellent crack-bridging performance even at low temperatures
• Impermeable to radon gas

Application Details
Surface Quality
Surfaces must be clean, even, solid, and free from dust, oil, dirt, rust, release agents, detergent residues, and any other materials that may prevent adhesion.
If segregation is present in the concrete, all loose or weak parts must be removed.
Cracks and cavities should be repaired using suitable TEKNOREP repair mortars.
Application of TEKNOMER 400 2K EX should begin 3–4 days after the repair work.
Surface Preparation
The surface to be waterproofed must be dry. Any ponding or standing water must be removed.
If there are structural expansion joints, they must first be waterproofed using Teknomer Pah Bands and TEKNOBOND 400 D before applying TEKNOMER 400 2K EX.
Application Equipment
Can be applied by brush or trowel.
Suitable for airless spray application using proper equipment.

Application Notes / Limitations
• Do not add any foreign materials.
• Do not apply under direct sunlight.
• Must be applied in two coats.
• Do not apply during rain.
• Do not dilute with water.
• Protect freshly applied material from rain and adverse weather conditions until fully cured.
• In a clean container or its original bucket, pour Component B into Component A. Mix with a low-speed mixer until a lump-free, homogeneous mixture is obtained. Mixing time should be at least 5 minutes.
• Prime the surface with Teknomer 400 Primer or with the liquid component of Teknomer 400 2K EX diluted 1:10 with water. Wait 30 to 60 minutes, then apply the mixed material to the surface using a stiff-bristle brush or spray machine. Once the first coat cures, apply the second coat perpendicular to the first layer.
• The minimum waiting time between coats is 5 hours. The next coat can be applied when no material residue remains on the fingers during a touch test.
• If desired, fiberglass mesh reinforcement can be embedded between coats.
• As the product is not UV-resistant, it must be covered with thermal insulation boards, protection boards, or geotextile felt after curing.
• After application, protect the surface from direct sunlight, strong wind, high temperatures (above +35°C), rain, and frost until fully cured.
• Hands and tools should be cleaned with water and detergent immediately after use, before the product hardens.
• Equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with Tekno Thinner while the material is still fresh; once cured, mechanical cleaning will be required.
• Protect the surface before soil backfilling.
